For anyone who is employed as a child care professional, or for the moms and dads who want to make sure they’re prepared for a mishap, First Aid for Ayahs, Carers, Grandparents, Moms, and Dads is our course choice for you. This course prepares any, for the unintentional situations that befall children and for any medical emergencies that require first aid knowledge.

Duration and Time:

Our Childcare First Aid course is a 1-day, 6-hours course.

Course Content:

Kenyan Directorate of Occupational Safety & Health Services (DOSHS) registered and approved courses.

  • Incident Assessment – The systematic approach to managing first aid incidents.
  • Airway Management – How to establish a safe open airway. Handling an unconscious child or infant.
  • Breathing Problems – How to administer CPR (Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation) including the use of an AED. How to deal with child or infant drowning and chocking. 
  • Circulation Problems – Internal bleeding, external bleeding, and treatment for Shock. Includes proper bandaging techniques.
  • Febrile Convulsions – How to adminster approprate care, and to identify signs and symptoms.
  • Eye and Ear Injuries – How to properly manage if a child has gotten something in their eye or ears.
  • Minor Injuries – Small cuts, splinters, and burns.
  • Poisonings – How to properly manage a situation where a child has ingested a foreign substance.
  • Common Illnesses – Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and Food Allergies.
  • Action Plan – How to create an action plan and how to use it.
  • Scenerio Training – Mock situations associated with child or infant-related injuries.
  • First Aid Kit Contents – A detailed look at a complete first aid kit and where to find them.
